The Damned

New Rose ... the first Damned's single, also considered as the first ever punk single, issued in october, 1976.

That was the reason of the name of that new independant label in Paris, France: New Rose records. One of the first, and one amongst the few in the whole word that are still remembered and collected after its end.

A lot of New Rose label's names & things were kind of a wink to this:

  • Fan Club
  • Lively Art
  • Stretcher Case
  • Smash It Up
  • History of The Word ... sub-labels
  • & several compilation's name....

... took their name from Damned's songs.
