Certain General - Closer to the sunPhil Gammage performing with CERTAIN GENERAL :

New York band CERTAIN GENERAL performed a series of live shows in Paris and New York (November 29, 30 - December 1, 2, Espace Kiron, Paris, France & December 4, New York) in support of the new CD "Closer to the Sun" (released in France through Comotion Records) and in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the release of the LP "November's Heat". Band members include original band founders Parker Dulany (voice) and Phil Gammage (guitar).

The Saints - Spit the blues outNEWS - The Saints -------- The Saints new LP "Spit the Blues out" was issued in november 2000 ... as a New Rose records ref. ROSE350 (as wished by Chris Bailey, another way to celebrate 20 years of beeing together, even if actual Last Call ref. is 3063722).
with Chris Bailey, of course, and Patrick Mathé (on harmonica, and guitar).

a new release (4-tracks CD) released in 2000 on TKO records, and it's so good. Again it made it hard to measure some years have passed !
with John Felice (guitar, vocals), Allen "Alpo" Paulino (bass), Billy Borgioli (guitar), Howard Ferguson (drums). recorded 8/99 at the Outpost, Stoughton, MA.
Gun Club - Fire of love 2000the GUN CLUB - Fire of Love

Last Call records
re-issued in april 2000 Gun Club's Fire of Love, some 20 years after the first issue (18 years actually), with same track-list, but a different sleeve.

About bands :
Brian James and Wayne Kramer- the Racketeers- recorded a new LP "Mad for the Racket", with Duff McKagan (bass) and two drummers : Steward Copeland (Police) and Clem Burke (Blondie). It will be realesed through Last Call.
the band should tour from november 2000 in London, Amsterdam and Paris.

Mad Daddys: they just finished recording a new release and they're now looking for European labels to license it to.
they're currently (oct.2000) performing several dates in USA.

Corpse Grinders - Rick Rivets, Blaccard & Andy Doback may have some CD projects out soon.
The Real Kids: some records and unreleased tracks have been re-issued in 1999 by Norton on LP & CD.
The Saints: they gave a concert in Paris, at Café de la Danse, on december, 2, 1999.
the Count Joe Viglione is heading a great label : Varulven records - also manages Music Business Monthly
Rolf Rock from the Bangsters had another band after : the Teenage Grave

R.I.P. :
Cub Koda died early in the morning on July 1, 2000 at the age of 51, from complications from kidney disease. he was writing and recording music in the last week of his life.

About ex-New Rose men :
Gérald, well-known of any buyer at rue Pierre Sarrazin, has put up a label: Commotion records, that will issue for France the new LP of the Fleshtones, and the new by Certain General.
