 The Real Kids Fan Club
A very active french fan club existed in Bordeaux, France, during the years 83, 84, 85 .... (I don't
know if it's active by now ?) as far as I remember put up by Christian Larrède & José Ruiz
- guitarist of such bands as Stilettos, Gamine; and - for me - one of the greatest ever french rock guitar player
; he also was a rock critic, frequent traveler to USA where he met all those group we're fan (apparently still
writing for some e-zines or sites like amazon.fr, journalist at Radio France Bordeaux ?? where are you now
Jose ?) ... he also appears as thanks to on numerous records, as by the Real Kids, ....
The french zine 19 (nineteen) has been used as the media by the Real Kids Fan Club : you'll find here some excerpts
from this period, taken from the zine, with also some scans of the autographed records from José's collection.
apparently there would be another another Real Kids fan club active (at least selling t-shirts and stickers) in
the USA :

ALL KINDSA GIRLS, the film: a portrait of the
Real Kids by Cheryl Eagan-Donovan
All Kindsa Girls, an evolutionary tale featuring the Real Kids
Synopsis:
All Kindsa Girls traces the evolution of garage/punk rock from its inception in the sixties through current
interpretations. Focusing on the career of singer/songwriter John Felice and his band the Real Kids, the film examines
the significance of music in the lives of performers and fans. In 1976, the year the Ramones and the Sex Pistols
issued their first albums, ex-Modern Lover John Felice put together the band that would become the Real Kids. One
year later, they recorded the garage/punk classic known as the Red Star Album. All Kindsa Girls documents Felice’s
evolving search for success.

All Kindsa Girls (2003)
Cheryl Eagan-Donovan’s evocative documentary about Boston garage-rockers The Real Kids, named for one
of their quintessential 1970s Boston rock songs, isn’t just a portrait of John Felice’s on-again, off-again band.
It also delves into what might be called “Boston band syndrome” (great band that should’ve become big, but doesn’t)
and, to give the music context, dips into Boston rock history and the city’s preference for guitar-driven garage
rock, with both Barry Tashian of The Remains and Jonathan Richman (who started the Modern Lovers with Natick neighbor
Felice when the latter was 15) appearing. Of course, there’s onstage footage of The Real Kids, too, filmed at the
Middle East, the Abbey and Avalon. from www.bigscreenboston.com
