Alan Vega - Martin Rev

Second LP of Suicide, with true melodies (Ric Ocasek's contribution/influence), and always heard as new sound
20 years after confirming their importance today. The record I would personnaly put in front of all the others.

The Second Album / The
First Rehearsal Tapes
USA reissue : MUTE 1/18/2000 |
The second twentiest birthday re-released for the second record in june 1999. The CD 1 features the full second LP more one unrealesed track, more the 2 tracks from the 1979 12" EP Dream Baby Dream. The CD 2 offers tracks from their first rehearsals in 1975, recorded at Museum for Living Artists, NYC (the gallery Alan Vega had opened in the early 70's). Previously unreleased tracks, except for 3 of that have been relased on the tape 1/2 Alive in 1981. The sleeves features them in their hippy clothes, as it's a 1972 photo (it was the peace for Vietnam era), and Martin Rev with kind of afro-haircut. As they did the year before, they gave some concerts : in New York (for the first time since 15 years), in London, and Barcelona, for the SONAR festival of Techno/House/Garage music.
