Hi,

Suicide were great in the Paris gig but it was unfortunately in a room with chairs far away and people sitting, that's absurd for
Suicide! Happily lots of people got up at the left and right after a while, but still...
The band looked sometimes pissed off (perhaps that kind of place?)
This distant room was definitely not for them but it gave a strange impression to see far away Vega doing on that long cold stage his
great moves like a half-awake iguana or something, in a mirroring grey-violet jacket. Rev did some killer long synth solos, sometimes punching with the fists with an evil grin. The greatest band. They should come in Europe much, much more often. But in less distant places! Yes it is, also, Art-performance (it's everything) but it should not be treated that way, with distant people looking...
How did you find it, jES? deterritorium, mathieu?

the Paris show at Beaubourg was more than great !! everything was great : sound, atmosphere, public , a lot of emotion
happened to be warmer than formaly sit public might let expect Alan & Martin were particularly involved ... so different from Alan's show some 15 years ago, when he seemed to unlike his public At Beaubourg, Alan spend a lot of time searching physical contact with us ...
Audience was calm, but some girls and also some East european punks who traveled especially; a lot of girlfriends ... or was it the girls who took her boyfriend ?
Alan also gave his public some Peace & Love message ("if you outta drive, don't drink / don't do drugs / survive / you must survive / take care .... then out, and back on the scene for a 3rd encore ,
Stayin' Alive "but in the Suicide way" as said Alan Vega : " Suicide was always about life. But we couldn' t call it Life. So we called it Suicide because we wanted to recognize life. "

The rented keyboard was quite broken at the end ... Martin did present some excuses "sorry , really sorry" ... "don't worry, that's ok " answered the girl from Beaubourg. She organised the gig (& the after) really well, she was rendered thanks by
Martin & Alan & the road manager, she was great.
and it was nice to meet the guys (Vincent , Mathieu, Ben) before the show .... I still not changed my ranking for American Supreme tracks ;-)
I told Martin we met from Switzerland, Greece & France , he was ery vhappy with that (while talking about web as a nice communication tool)
I had the chance to go backstage and then to the bar with them after the show, talked a lot with them, specially with Martin .... Both extremely nice guys , very careful of who they were talking with, very happy with the show. Alan actually looked very tired.

I still have to develop photos I've taken.
best
jes

i absolutely agree : it was a great show !
and it was really great to see Alan and Martin for the first time (i was also the youngest among the members of this list to be there)
even if i would like this to happen a long time ago
i also very much agree with Etienne about the emotion of this performance - it was becoming sometimes quite affecting
i personally also enjoyed the "noisy" part and moments of the concert, the "encore", the second one (?), was mutant "sister ray says" - non?
but also martin who while playing his part was quite willing to let chaos in
it was great
and great also meeting the other members of this list , we shall meet again
à la prochaine!
